About Us

We moved to Summerfield Farm in 1999. The term ‘farm’ is rather grand as it is barely ten acres of grassland and buildings. We purchased it as our operational base to run our farm business management and consultancy partnership and to raise our two sons in a rural environment along with horses and spaniels. In 2002 we acquired the tenancy of a further 90 acres of arable land and farmed this until 2015. During that time we carried out a continuous program of refurbishment and improvement of the land and buildings and converted one of the grain handling barns into a range of farm offices to support the partnership activities.

We diversified our farm activity in 2014 and opened Summerfield Campsite (www.summerfieldcampsite.co.uk). In that same year we opened apartment 1. The apartment complemented the operation of the campsite as it was ideal for grandparents that wanted to accompany their children and grandchildren on camping trips but did not want to be ‘under canvas’ and so could enjoy the barbecue and campfire but also retire to a comfortable night sleep in considerably greater luxury. This proved popular and so we subsequently converted more of the farm office suite into apartments 2 and 3. The apartments are now not only supported by leisure guests but also guests requiring fully self contained well appointed accommodation that gives them space and flexibility to come and go as they please while they are in the area for work or study purposes.
